Someone who would become a part of our family
When we first set out to find an au pair, we knew we weren’t just looking for someone to help out with daily tasks. We were looking for someone who would become a part of our family. Over the years, we have had five or six au pairs, each bringing their own unique presence into our home. But when we met Flavia, we knew instantly that she was the right fit for us.

We took her to footy games, dined out at restaurants as a family, and even went on trips to the countryside, where she experienced seeing kangaroos for the first time, an unforgettable moment for all of us! But it wasn’t just the big adventures that mattered; it was also the little things like sitting by the beach with a coffee while watching the kids play. These simple moments built a deep sense of connection and belonging.
The cultural exchange
Flavia also brought a piece of her home country, Italy, into our lives. She arrived with a book about her region and unique gifts that represented her heritage. Over time, we had many conversations about Italy; its culture, food, and traditions. It was a wonderful exchange of experiences, and we hope that she learned just as much from us as we did from her.
