Au Pair in AUSTRIA
Country snapshot and program guide

If you dream of being nanny in Vienna or au pair in The Alps, our au pair in Austria program can help to get you overseas safe and easy. We KNOW Austria, our Manager worked in the ski resort of Badgastein!

The Au Pair program in Austria program has the unique benefit of having a part time schedule of 20 hours childcare (+ babysitting) and 5 weeks paid holidays giving you MORE time to explore! (see program guide below)

Register now to be au pair in Austria

Austria is one of the smaller countries in Europe with both a rich history and a very up-to-date young scene at the same time. With mountains and lakes, it is just waiting to be explored and the outdoors is there to be enjoyed through many activities from skiing and snowboarding in winter to rafting and hiking in summer. The cities each have their own distinct feel, Vienna is highly sophisticated and elegant, yet modern at the same time, Salzburg is smaller and feels more traditional and Innsbruck is great for shopping and nightlife.

Austrian people are very proud of their country and enjoy a vibrant tourist industry. Many Europeans like to come to the Austrian Alps for their skiing holidays. As an au pair you get time to explore it all and to enjoy the different seasonal attractions.

In winter we have to start with the skiing and snowboarding but above all with the magical atmosphere. Our Manager was a holiday representative here and improved her German and her skiing at the same time; you can do the same as an au pair! The ski resorts offer great facilities and lovely lunches in wooden mountain restaurants on the slopes. Don’t be surprised if the landlord bursts out into song during a busy lunch service, just sing along and enjoy! At night the après-ski goes into full swing, with ice-bars and tobogganing under the starts, this is special!

Soak up a bit of urban atmosphere during winter in Austrians cities. Spend a day in one of the numerous museums, ice skate in front of Vienna’s town hall or indulge in the “sweet things of life” in one of the famous coffee houses.

In spring the country just gets greener each week as the snow melts and the weather improves.

The summer time comes with its own charm with many of the chocolate box houses decorated with an abundance of brightly coloured geraniums and a wealth of outdoor sports on offer everywhere. Austria has many lakes and rivers and boating is a popular past time, from calming river cruises on the Danube to exhilarating rafting trips in the mountain regions.

Sophisticated cities offer plenty of shopping, an array of terraces on pretty squares and a chance to enjoy the outdoors in one of the many parks.

Music is never far away in Austria. The Sound of Music was filmed here and music performances are everywhere, whether it's a concert in the rooms of a Baroque palace, at the Opera House or one of the many festivals.
